How Hydroponics and Food Justice Shaped One Student’s Future
When Vera G. first joined her high school’s hydroponics club as a freshman, she wasn’t sure what to expect. “I was joining every single club at my school,” she recalls. When she saw the hydroponics club, she thought, “‘I wonder what that is?’” That simple curiosity led her to a transformative experience with Teens for Food Justice (TFFJ).
Last week, Murry Bergtraum Educational Campus and Urban Assembly Maker Academy celebrated an incredible milestone with the launch of a state-of-the-art Teens for Food Justice hydroponic urban farm in one of their classrooms.
