Tropical Thai Basil Smoothie

Created by TFFJ’s SYEP interns at DeWitt Clinton High School, this smoothie was the result of plenty of measuring, tasting, and fine-tuning. Each intern had a hand in balancing the flavors until it was just right—and the finishing touch? A sprinkle of fresh Thai basil on top for a bright, refreshing kick.

Like all TFFJ recipes, it gives students a chance to explore healthy eating, experiment with fresh ingredients grown right in their school, and share what they’ve learned with their community.

Ingredients (TFFJ Produce Highlighted 🌿)

  • 3 cups of frozen mango chunks
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple chunks
  • 2 & 3/4 cups coconut milk
  • 1 whole banana
  • A handful of Thai basil leaves 🌿
  • Honey, to taste

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine the frozen mango, frozen pineapple, banana, Thai basil, and coconut milk.
  2. Blend thoroughly, adding coconut milk until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Add honey to taste.

Enjoy!
