Teens for Food Justice Receives Clean Audit Report for FY25
Manhattan, NY (February 6th, 2026) — Teens for Food Justice (TFFJ) recently completed its FY25 independent audit, receiving an unmodified (“clean”) opinion, confirming that the organization’s financial statements fairly present its financial position in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
The audit was conducted by Sax LLP, a licensed independent CPA firm with extensive experience serving nonprofit organizations. The firm conducted its work in accordance with U.S. generally accepted auditing standards and identified no material misstatements.
For TFFJ leadership, the audit reflects the strength of the organization’s financial systems and internal practices. Randy Stern, TFFJ’s Co-Chair, noted that “A clean audit reinforces our confidence that TFFJ is managing its finances with transparency and care. It’s an important way to honor the trust placed in us by our supporters.”
Strong financial management is also central to TFFJ’s responsibility to donors and partners. Bridget Alameda, TFFJ’s Treasurer, emphasized the importance of stewardship, explaining that, “Being a good steward of donor support is central to our work. This audit shows that TFFJ takes that responsibility seriously and manages resources with care and accountability.”
CEO Meghan Groome, PhD, emphasized how trust sustains the work over time. “An unmodified audit shows two things about TFFJ,” she said. “Our financial team is incredible and are top-notch professionals. And, the organization as a whole is so grateful for the trust that donors put in us to faithfully carry out our mission with financial excellence.”
Independent audits are a key component of nonprofit accountability, providing assurance that resources are managed responsibly and in alignment with professional standards. This clean audit affirms Teens for Food Justice’s ongoing commitment to transparency, sound financial management, and stewardship in support of its mission to build a just food system for all.
